While he is not a part of The Center for Natural Medicine, he does invite you to speak to him about his work.

We are looking for Front Office help and also a nurse to work with Dr. Dana Keaton the Naturopathic Physician and her staff.

Many of you have been receiving my intermittent newsletters.  These are health notes on common health issues with suggestions for simple solutions. 

 These articles address health concerns I frequently encounter with my patients at the office.  For example this month I wrote about heartburn.  Please feel free to forward these to friends and family.  It can be a good way to introduce them to services at the clinic. 

I am sending this note with "Dr. Keaton" and "Health News " rather than "News  from The Center of Natural Medicine" to see if fewer end up in the junk mail.  You can also add our address to your address list to keep them from going to junk. 

Often a coupon for a discount will be attached to the newsletter. We are fairly settled into our new building.  I love that the children think it is my home.  I hope all of you are feeling it is comfortable and a healing place. My mission statement is to be able to serve others on their healing path at whatever level is necessary in body, mind and spirit.  I feel this space conveys and supports the mission.

 

Many of you have come to me for a special health need or to find a diagnosis and treatment for an illness other doctors have not been able to figure out.  I want to let everyone know how many areas I can help with. Below is a list of some of the many health needs we can meet.

 

It can be very comforting and helpful to have a doctor who knows your family unit and follows each of you through the years.  There is value in your primary care physician knowing who you are.

PEDIATRICS

Well baby exams starting at one month old. 

Vaccine questions.
Discovering underlying causes for symptoms of ear infections, rashes, colds, asthma and even focus issues, can be more effective than prescription drugs alone.

GYNECOLOGY

General pelvic, breast exams and pap smears.

Alternative treatments for abnormal pap results, endometriosis and bleeding issues.

Premenstrual difficulties (PMS) evaluated and treated.

Treatment with or without hormone replacement therapy.  Risk evaluation.

We can draw your blood in the convenience of our office.

Private pay or insurance pay with SONORA.  Insurance billing only with LAB CORP.

Specialty Labs for extended cardiac risk assessment, complete thyroid assessment, intracellular nutrition status, Metal toxicity, Neurotransmitter imbalances, parasites, candida, food reactivity, and hormonal evaluations.

Genetic predisposition testing.

TCM traditional Chinese medicine.  Dr. Keaton has practiced since 1989 and has been licensed in the State of Arizona since the licensing law was created.

Dr. Keaton developed and taught the oncology program for the naturopathic medical school.  She has studied internationally and has specific treatment plans for all stages of cancer therapy.

Nambudripad Allergy Desensitization Technique

Allergy desensitization with drops under the tongue.

Herbal antihistamine treatments with less side effects.

Acupuncture.
 
Insurance
 

News on insurance.  For many of you at least part of our services would be reimbursed to you by your insurance company.  Often I find my patients do not fill out their insurance forms or they are too busy to do the paperwork. 

 

I have found a company that will do the work for you.  Your claim is filed electronically by "HCCS" company with your insurance company and the check is sent to you.  The exclusions are patients with HMO or Medicare because they do not reimburse.  I encourage the rest of you to take advantage of this service. 

 

You will need to read the HIPPA (Health information Privacy Practice Assurance) document and sign that you have read that and a form that states we can send the information for the claim to HCCS. The fee is $5.00 the first time, which includes entering your information in the HCCS system for the insurance company.  After that the fee is $3.50 per visit unless you change to a different insurance company.  HCCS knows how to take care of the insurance game for you and the electronic billing speeds up reimbursement. 

 

This is not part of The Center for Natural Medicine, but an outside service.  You would still address any questions to the insurance company if needed; we only know what we sent to HCCS.  The patients that have been using the service have been pleased.
 
Positions Available
 

We are looking for Front Office help and also a nurse to work with Dr. Dana Keaton the Naturopathic Physician and her staff.

 

The Office Person is responsible for the day-to-day business as well as being a link for the patients to Dr. Keaton.  The position is a key part of the clinic with a fairly high level of independent decision-making.  There is also a significant amount of patient interaction requiring personal relation skills.

Personal characteristics we are looking for include an organized, detail oriented person who enjoys multi tasking.  Good business sense, common sense and people skills are important. This position often requires working under pressure with several things at one time while maintaining a good disposition and good patient relations. There is a considerable amount of computer work, most of which is using the program Medisoft.  If you are willing to learn we can teach you the program.

This position will require hours on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with full time potential.

 

The nurse or medical assistant will be mainly performing back office help in a small general practice with health-oriented patients.  The position involves laboratory maintenance and organization, blood draws, intravenous therapy, supervising health monitoring for health promotion programs, and helping with triage on the phones. Depending on hours you need to work you may help with general office flow as well.  Key traits we are looking for in an employee are friendly, professional, self-starter who is organized and likes a fast pace.  If you like getting to know the patients and are interested in natural medicine this may be your dream job.

Hours required are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.  Other weekday hours are negotiable.

 

Your skills in leading a healthful lifestyle and your interest in natural medicine are used to support the patients healing path.  If you enjoy helping and educating others, want to expand your knowledge of the healing arts, have a good sense of humor, and care about others you will fit in to our group easily.
